Extended description

This education package is made up of four ring bound booklets, covering reception to key stage 1 including lesson plans, activity notes and worksheets that can be used in the classroom. As well as the booklets, each pack includes a set of cards which accompany the lesson plans and activities that can be used alongside and a CD-ROM that carries all this information in a digital pdf format as well as several games. This pack has been designed for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service in conjunction with the Department for Communities and Local Government's fire safety education materials and contains teaching resources aligned with the National Curriculum, Early Learning Goals, Every Child Matters National Outcomes and the Healthy Schools Programme. The aim is to provide educational resources and teaching aids for reception through to year 2.

The aim of the pack is to educate children of all ages in safety issues by making them aware of the dangers and consequences as well as the causes of fire and RTCs with specific emphasis on escape routes and the importance of smoke alarms.

The key areas that are highlighted include: Fire prevention in the home, detection of, and escape from fire, fire setting, calling 999 and road safety. The pack has been developed in conjunction with the Department for Communities and Local Government's fire safety education material and contains teaching resources aligned with the National Curriculum, Early Learning Goals, Every Child Matters National Outcomes and the Healthy Schools Programme.
